The Roeterseiland Campus is one of the four open city campuses of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and is located in the centre of Amsterdam. The campus is home to the faculties of Economics and Business Administration, Social and Behavioural Sciences and, since 2017, the Faculty of Law.

Building the future

A city campus in full swing and development, located between Roeterstraat, Plantage Muidergracht, Nieuwe Achtergracht, Valckenierstraat, Pancrasstraat and Sarphatistraat. This is where education, research, knowledge institutions, business and the city come together and build the future.

In recent years, the existing buildings around Nieuwe Achtergracht and Plantage Muidergracht have been renovated to meet the contemporary requirements and needs of scientific research and education. The outdoor space has also been redesigned.

CREA , the cultural student centre for courses, theatre and debates has - with theatre halls, studios and a café - a prominent place in the whole. A large bicycle shed has been created underground. The new bridge over the water connects the main entrances of the buildings on both sides of the Nieuwe Achtergracht, forming the heart of the campus.
