The completion of the new University Library (UB) in the University Quarter is still some way off. This 3D video is a taster of what it will be like to walk around in the new UB. The impressive atrium with its unusual glass and steel roof structure provides ample space and is flexible in terms of use. The monumental facade has been restored to its former glory and is now an indoor facade, thanks to the covered atrium. You can also see how the former hospital wards have been transformed into study spaces and take a peek inside the UB Café in the new wing of the building. The monumental anatomical theatre will serve as a classroom, but can also be turned into a cinema. These are some of the ways in which the former Binnengasthuis is being converted into a modern university library.
