The first phase of the renovation at the Allard Pierson Museum (APM) is nearing completion. The BES exhibit will open its doors to the public on Thursday 17 October, which also marks the official reopening of Allard Pierson Live and the first-floor exhibition wing.

From that date, the museum will be accessible from the familiar main entrance on Oude Turfmarkt 127 again, following the restoration of the large, old entrance doors.

Renovation phase two

The building section near Turfdraagsterpad will then be expanded during the next renovation phase, which is expected to last until March 2020. This will involve construction of a steel framework, for which the necessary components are set to be delivered through the end of week 48. Turfdraagsterpad will be closed for parts of the day during this period so that the materials can be hoisted in. The contractor will also be using the main entrance during this time.
