Spatial development of the University Quarter
The University Quarter development is an area development project in a unique, historically rooted location in the city centre. This calls for a bespoke approach and a careful, integrated balancing of all relevant factors, needs and interests.
Strategic Masterplan
The UvA and the City of Amsterdam have jointly drawn up a Strategic Masterplan for the development of the University Quarter. This plan forms the basis for various sub‑projects, such as the design of the university buildings and the public realm, and also addresses themes such as mobility, logistics, sustainability, liveability and safety. The plan was developed with input from a range of stakeholders. The Amsterdam City Council adopted the plan in the summer of 2021.
