The University Quarter is a place where science meets everyday life. After all, the great questions of our time call for human answers: the domain of the humanities.

Amsterdam Humanities Hub 

The Amsterdam Humanities Hub is a collaboration between the University of Amsterdam’s Faculty of Humanities, the humanities institutes of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW), and the City of Amsterdam. The Amsterdam Humanities Hub connects partners from the cultural sector, government and business with researchers and young talent in the humanities to co‑create solutions to societal challenges.

Public events

Across the University Quarter, the UvA venues Allard Pierson, SPUI25, the University Library and VOX-POP programme events throughout the year, most of them free and open to a wide audience. Go to the events calendar.
