Film festival volunteers can report here when they arrive, collect t-shirts and lunch vouchers, and relax with a cup of coffee. BG 5’s (weekend) opening times will change temporarily as a result (see the heading: BG 5 opening times). None of the above is expected to cause any inconvenience for local residents.

BG 5 opening times

Different opening times will apply from Monday, 18 November to Sunday, 1 December 2019.
Monday to Saturday: from 09:00 – 20:00.
Sunday: from 10:00 – 16:00 – only open for the IDFA.

More about the IDFA

Films screenings will be organised at various locations: from the Rembrandtplein to deep in West and South East Amsterdam. Visitors can expect national and international premieres and competitions, films by new faces and students, children’s documentaries, a film market and a very international audience.
For more information, see www.idfa.nl.

Cooperation between the IDFA and the UvA

For the first time ever, the IDFA, the UvA and VOX-POP are joining forces to bring an inspiring study programme to visitors of the festival, consisting of lectures, discussions and master classes. Each afternoon, UvA student associations will discuss the film of the day in conversation with film makers and other special guests. The various films all have one thing in common: they all feature humanity-related themes.
