Sustainability is an integral part of the construction project and is at the core of our commitment to a responsible future. The building is being developed with sustainability and energy efficiency as its core principles, in line with the Paris Proof all-electric standard, a construction and design standard aimed at reducing CO2 emissions to combat climate change.

Sustainability is a top priority at LabQ. The building is being developed according to the Paris Proof all-electric standard, a construction and design standard aimed at reducing CO2 emissions. By using thermal energy storage (TES) technology and renewable energy sources, the UvA aims to achieve an energy-neutral building with a low environmental impact for LabQ. The whole-life carbon approach is aimed at keeping CO2 emissions low over the building's entire lifespan.

Another important sustainability objective is to create a degree of flexibility for the future. Space in the building must be adaptable for new developments and different user groups without using a significant amount of resources and energy.
