Building A

In week 14, at the beginning of April, the temporary window-cleaning installation will be replaced with a permanent one. A crane will be on site temporarily to lift the new installation onto the roof. The new study island in the central hall is being prepared at a central location and will be transported to Building A in mid-April, where it will be assembled.

The roof covering on the roof of the third floor and the moss-sedum roof will be installed in mid-April, giving the roof a green look. Moss-sedum also captures fine particulate matter and is a good insulator. Work is being carried out in the tower to finish the offices and lay the synthetic flooring in the hall.

How will this affect you?

Materials will be delivered and removed via Nieuwe Achtergracht, and the porter will supervise traffic safety in Roetersstraat at the sliding gate.

Buildings D, E and H

The double emergency exit doors in the hall of Building E (Nieuwe Achtergracht side), will be relocated at the beginning of April, and the new entrance to PPLE will be created in this same hall, adjacent to the Student Service Desk.

The final roof construction on the roof of Building E (Tower 1) will be placed in April, so that the technical installations will be out of sight. Some structural alterations to the technical installations will also be carried out, and both of the transmission masts will be replaced by the telecom suppliers as part of the project.

How will this affect you?

The work in the hall of Building E is not expected to cause any nuisance. The corridor will remain open, and the climate in the hall will be temporarily affected during the door replacement due to the breaking through of the external wall. The work is expected to take two days.

There will be noise nuisance during the work on the roof. We will communicate this in plenty of time and take appropriate measures as necessary. The work on the transmission masts will take place during the weekends and evenings, the crane will be located between Buildings E and G and the through route will remain open. The bicycle park will also remain accessible.

Building B/C

The stairway to the entrance to Building B/C will be changed during the weekend of 25 March. The present platform at the entrance on the first floor will remain, but the stairway will be connected to the bridge over the Nieuwe Achtergracht canal. From 27 March the routing to and from Building B/C will be via the new bridge. The crossing via the bicycle pontoons will remain intact, but it will no longer be possible to walk to Building B/C from CREA. This change creates space for the work on the last part of the outdoor areas, the southern side of the Nieuwe Achtergracht canal in front of Building A and the area under the stairway to building B/C.

How will this affect you?

This work will take place on Saturday 25 March and will run into Sunday 26 March if necessary, although this is not expected. The materials for the work will be delivered from Roetersstraat using regular transport. The old construction will be removed in three sections, the platform will be extended and the stairway will then be connected to the bridge.

Grassed area Valckenierstraat

The site hut will be removed at the end of May and the area on Valckenierstraat grassed over.
