The exterior of the Allard Pierson Museum is to be painted from 28 June to 10 September. In this update, the dates for building and taking down scaffolding have been changed, as the work in week 26 was progressing well.
The work is to be carried out in a phased approach from 28 June to 10 September. The section on the garden side will be painted first, followed by the section on the roof.
The work will depend on the weather, so the work schedule is subject to change. We will do our utmost to avoid changes. Updates on any major deviations will be published on the website.
The work is to be performed during the working hours set by Amsterdam City Council, after 7:00 am. Out of respect for local residents, we will endeavour to start work after 7:30 am wherever possible. Hence, working hours will be from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm on working days.
Scaffolding will be erected and dismantled for the painting work. This can cause noise nuisance.
Dates for erecting and dismantling scaffolding:
The painting work will require sanding to be carried out first. The sanding will be done from 7:30 am until 10:00 am to minimise noise nuisance. It may occasionally be done outside of these hours, but this will be kept to a minimum and should only be for a short while.
Loading and unloading of scaffolding and materials will be done in the courtyard (garden side) of the Allard Pierson Museum, as the work is to be done at the rear of the building. This, too, will entail noise nuisance.
